1. Alex Kos the Player

Born in the U.S., I began playing fußball in West Germany. During grades 1 – 3 (1973-1975), I played for ASV Tiefenbroich. In fourth grade (1975-1976), I played fotball for the Norwegian club Odd Grenland Ballklubb in their youth development program. In grades 5 – 12, I played soccer for various teams in Salt Lake City, Utah and Highland High School. Unfortunately, an ACL injury my junior year ended any aspirations of playing soccer at the next level. American football replaced soccer. I ended up attending Brown University (Class of ’88) and was the starting field goal kicker and punter for 3 years. Upon graduation, I was able to coax several years of soccer out of my knees playing for FC Foster City in Northern California before the annual knee surgeries were no longer worth it.
